Our Approach
The EOPD Dual-Support Kit provides tools designed for the specific needs of younger people living with Parkinson’s. Our goal is to make daily tasks feel natural again by providing science-based aids.Â

Â
To develop the toolkit, we combined scientific research with real-world experiences. We conducted a literature review on Parkinson's disease and existing assistive devices, while also speaking directly with individuals living with the condition.

These conversations helped us better understand the challenges people face in everyday situations and guided our selection of four simple but purposeful tools.

Rather than developing entirely new technology, our approach focused on identifying practical solutions that could be easily integrated into everyday life. We selected tools that address different challenges associated with Parkinson's disease, including fine motor control, hand strength, dressing, and cognitive engagement.

How we picked our procucts
Research
Our project began with an exploration of scientific literature on Parkinson's disease and assistive technologies. We reviewed research on motor symptoms, daily living challenges, cognitive stimulation, and rehabilitation strategies. This evidence provided the foundation for selecting tools that address common needs among people with early-stage Parkinson's.
Patient Perspective
A key part of our approach was listening to people living with Parkinson's disease. Through interviews and conversations, we gained insight into the practical difficulties they encounter in daily life. Their experiences helped us identify which types of support would be most valuable and ensured that our toolkit remained focused on real user needs.
Design and Acceptability
Our goal was to create a toolkit that is simple, practical, and accessible. Rather than relying on expensive or complex technology, we focused on tools that are easy to use and readily available. By combining research findings with user feedback, we selected products that can support independence in a realistic and approachable way.
